Senior Project

This is one of the pieces for my final project here at Art Center. This is a sort of a sequel to the Fifth Element where Corben goes to India. Only in this case the flying cabs are Elephants! What I liked about the movie was that it was sci-fi and at the same time campy and bit of whimsy to it too which I really liked.
This piece was just to establish the very decorative look and busyness complete with hanging clothes and all. More on the way....

Clash of the Titans!

2D - 3D

I really love exploring in 2-D. For this assignment I experimented with basic graphic shapes that make up a train. It was like working backwards, distilling the train to its essence or what makes a train look like a train.

Treasure Island

This was a project I was working on last term- my reinterpretation of Treasure Island. I have always loved insects and decided to create an 'Insect World'....

Gosh...its been so long. Sorry everyone for not keeping my blog updated. I am back in school now and the transition from a workplace to a classroom environment was really hard to get used to. Thought I would start off with another Western . I was trying to figure out how the Weapons compartment would look in the train 'Wanderer' from the movie Wild Wild West. I tried using different components of the train as an aesthetic.

Moby Dick

I decided to a do a stylized version of Moby Dick where he has symbiotic relationship between shelled Stingrays. They form a 'mobile armor' to protect him and he in turn provides them with food.

Ramayana

I have always wanted to stylize the Indian epic, 'Ramayana'. I have portrayed the fight sequence between Lord Rama and the ten headed demon, Ravana.

Toys!

I love toys........

Film studies

Sleepy Hollow

The fountain- painted using a mouse

Moulin Rouge- also using a mouse

Alice in Wonderland

While redesigning Alice in Wonderland, I was inspired by Tibetan Thangka paintings. The first time I came across these beautiful paintings was when I was visiting Dharamshala in India. Such a beautiful place, wish I could live there.

Architecture Design

Metropolis

These are some of the characters I had designed for the movie Metropolis....

I had envisioned the workers to be soldiers in this case with organic costumes.

Outdoor clock Installation Design

This was a clock I had designed when I was working with Titan Industries Ltd, India's largest manufacturer of watches. The brief was to design a clock for Chowdiah Memorial hall, which showcases theatre and dance. The theme for my concept is emotions. Each face displays a different emotion, and the lighting changes color every 45 seconds.

Digital landscape painting

Hi everyone! Gosh it feels good to have a blog. (Leighton I finally did it, ha, ha!) I thought I would start off by posting some landscapes I had done over last summer. It was the first time I tried to paint graphically and forced myself to use solid colors. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did!
